Because We’re Young Too
One of the last classes I took was a Fashion Business class that met once a week for 5 hours. This class was to teach us how to take data for who will be buying our clothes, how to market it, how to design it and how to work well in groups. There were 3 groups of teams working all under the same name, Star Store Studio. Each group had vastly different design elements to add to our overall project as well as helping with critiques for pointing out things we may have missed. When viewing the website it can be a bit of a mess as all three groups are posting their merchandise that they created and we all went for different approaches. So on this page I will also add all the products we personally worked on to give you a better understanding as to what I personally worked on. There is a power point presentation my group did that is below as well.
This project taught me most of the visually branding and teamwork that I love to use in my projects. Anytime I have a problem with a group of people in real life, I think back to the times during this project as to how we problem solved to come to a collective conclusion. As well as how to brand for a specific audience using the given media. Facebook is different from Twitter, Twitter is different from Instagram and so on. Design has a crazy relationship to technology and not understanding the push and pull of it will leave you drowning in a sea of nothing. This project taught me how to stand out from the rest as their will always be people doing exactly what you are doing.
